FOSTIRAS NIKOLAOS – About the teacher

Ι was born in Piraeus, Attica, Greece, on 13 April 1971. At the age of 13, Ι immigrated with my parents to Melbourne, Australia, where I completed my high school studies. At the same time, I start learning the Bouzouki on my own. However, my love and thirst for knowledge for this instrument was such that it led me back to Greece to complete the learning of the device in the place where I was born.

In Greece, I learned both three-string and four-string Bouzouki. I worked as a first-class professional, accompanying with my Βouzouki artists such as Dimitris MitropanosSotiria BellouGiannis Dounias and many other renowned artists. After 20 years of collaboration in all the famous music venues in Greece, I returned to Melbourne and studied advanced music theory courses and compositions at Box Hill Institute, graduating and after five years of study, acquired:

1. Undergraduate degree bachelor’s in applied music-composition, (3 years) 

2. Postgraduate in contemporary music (practice). (2 years).

After graduation
I am a fully trained multimedia composer with an undergraduate and postgraduate master’s degree in composition from Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia. My extensive training includes composing music for all forms of multimedia, including film, TV, animation, advertising, and documentary.

Having undergone extensive studies in composition and orchestration, I have composed music for over 20 films. (See my projects section). 
I am very comfortable creating any style/genre of music as it pertains to the moving image quickly and cost-effectively. 

My training as a screen composer has given me skills in music creation, including producing and Mastering in the digital world. This process allows me to collaborate with clients from all over the world. I have expertise in Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Sibelius and DAW production.
